This is an excellent lecture by Robert Skidelsky (Emeritus Professor of Political Economy at the University of Warwick) recorded on 7 October, 2009, on Keynes, a critique of neoclassical economics, and the financial crisis of 2008 and resulting global recession.
hey LK, what's your take on krugman's back and forth with Keen over the last few days?
ReplyDeleteLord Keynes: Speaking about criticisms of neoclassical economics, did you get a chance to read my guest posts at Facts and Other Stubborn Things on the econophysics project?

They were both excellent and enlightening. I would have commented there, but have been a bit distracted myself with other work.

ReplyDeleteKeen 2, Krugman 0.
More seriously, I'll do a post on it at some stage.
cool, Krugman's brusque dismissal definitely smelled funny. says something good though that he's being forced to acknowledge the heterodoxy.
ReplyDeleteGood talk, but I was surprised to see Skidelsky endorse the "natural" rate of unemployment.
